Chimney Rock National Monument Visitor’s Center

Fun fact, this shoot was the first time I’ve ever crashed my drone (don’t worry the tree was fine). I ran a half mile in Birkenstocks to find a twitching hunk of plastic with not many usable shots on the card. With a little reset in a motel in Pagosa Springs, some TLC for my crunched drone, I went back at sunrise the next morning to discover the site really does look better with 5am light. Sometimes a little opportune misfortune is enough to get some epic shots of a local architecture firm’s achievement in naturalistic deign at one of America’s newest National Monuments.
